C88 CHM This Olympian was new to London Buses in June 1986 as its L88 (later converted to single door) and worked with London Central until it was sold to Rossendale Transport in the late 90s along with numerical neighbour L89. ALL the Double Deckers owned by Citibus Tours Ltd (Oldham) where aqquired from SYT Sheffield, mainly purchased due to the "Bus War" with GM Buses as was at the time, also they where transported from yorkshire to Oldham overnite by Citibus drivers arriving at the Chadderton Depot (oldham) in the early hours of a monday morning also of which was the first operational day of the oldham depot completting the move from the Old Gas works Yard on Bradford rd Manchester.

In the case of this bus, BLU would be a cherished number plate used by the operator BLUebird Bus and Coach. Other operators to use this letter combination in Greater Manchester are / were: Blue Bus of Bolton (since taken over by Arriva). Arriva (on some ex Blue Bus buses). Rossendale (on some ex Blue Bus buses). Bu-Val (on some ex Bluebird buses).

A good picture of 702 without the front roof frame that was to become standard for all double deck vehicles. This example has been sold along with the early examples that Reading Buses took in the early 90's. Reading still have some Spectras but these might not last long given the large Scania influx in recent times.

should never have gone, that camel we got 60406 is a right shed. windscreen kept falling out engineering realised o/s front pillar were cracked. had many good shifts on all nite 52 with 845/60663 before it went. b10ble;s best buses ever, go forever only probs shitty irish bodywork bits falling off,windscreens moving about.

This bus company is called 'Hunters Coaches', not Hunmoor. Also, are they any other photos of Hunters buses, or J&B Travel buses? They have number plates that end in 'OKJ' (eg A210OKJ).

Reading had the first Optare Spectra and even had 2 Spectra coaches,the coaches were sold and were given different registrations.The fleet of Spectras are numbered in a weird sequence.Some of these are due to be withdrawn from a contract service and the early examples are also due to be replaced soon.

One of the former Cardiff examples that Reading Buses acquired to replace the Reading Mainline services. Externally they were very similar to the ones Reading bought new,the front fleet number was to help drivers find the right bus! Internally they had orange grab rails as opposed to red,also they featured a rolling display with information in Welsh!

unlucky enough to have to allocate these to low floor routes in sheffield, even tho glasgow have welded tip ups down. 60354 has original spec interior and came direct from wigan with ad on back for wigan athletic when they put blades back down. watch em bounce back into og with electrics,turbos,overheating,dests,and in 60353s case a cracked chassis. want them back....
